Job Summary

The hELIOS Business Competency Centre (hBCC) is the structure supporting the new ways of working regarding individual data management. Activities incorporated in hBCC are as follows:

  • Support and business advice
  • Governance and controls
  • hELIOS global roll-out.

The APAC hBCC Manager is a key member of the hBCC. His/her responsibilities are to support APAC on all hBCC activities and to coordinate with other hBCC team members based in other regions (e.g. Paris and London).

The APAC hBCC Manager has a pro-active relationship with hBCC internal clients (business users) and holds responsibilities for the following activities:

  • Roll-out the hELIOS platform
  • Assist onboarding and maintenance of reinsurance treaties
  • Contribute to data-oriented tasks
  • Provide structured support to the end users and business advice on all modules of the hELIOS platform (Partner Portal, Data engineering, Bordereaux Management, Claims management, Medical underwriting, etc.).  

 

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Roll-out

                      During the roll-out of hELIOS

    • Support the definition of the Target Operating Model for deployment of the hELIOS solution for each Business Unit within scope
    • Work with other project team members to gather and analyze detailed information about the process design and the impact on the roles and the organizations affected
    • Monitor, coordinate and ensure progress - e.g. participate in the definition of the local roll-out plan, run weekly meetings, liaise with key members of the local business teams, etc.
    • Identify training requirements, support creation of training materials and run trainings when needed.
  • Support Treaty Onboarding
    • hELIOS requires reinsurance plans to be set up for SCOR Life business.  This requires analysis of the reinsurance treaties, product literature and existing systems to obtain the data and formula required to populate reference tables and mappings.  You will work closely with actuarial staff and client administrators.  The stakeholders will be based in offices in different locations in Asia. Key tasks:
    • Support creation of reinsurance plans and mappings. You will support the business with the creation by providing advice and review.  You will be expected to acquire an in-depth knowledge of hELIOS reference data and functionality in a short space of time. You are expected to have an in-depth knowledge of life insurance and reinsurance products.
    • Support the data engineers in their understanding of the policy data in order to facilitate coding of the routines to transform the data from cedent format to a standard format
    • Support the business testing in the system prior to going live.
  • Data-oriented tasks
    • Assist with data-oriented tasks relating to the system implementation which may arise
    • Support business in defining ways to leverage on hELIOS data (e.g. definition of new services to clients, reporting, etc.).
  • Business Support
    • Acquire skills required to become a hELIOS Super User for all hELIOS components
    • Provide expert support on all system functionalities (hELIOS usage, capabilities, structures, business advice)
    • Triage and analyse processing issues in hELIOS encountered by the business
    • Take part in the documentation of issues, specification of new functionalities and support tests of new hELIOS releases.
    • Document processes and create/amend training material.

 

Required experience & competencies

Experience: 

  • 6+ years' experience in Life Reinsurance / Insurance
  • Work experience in actuarial or operation or back office department.
  • Knowledge and understanding of life insurance products
