Job Summary

The Technical Accounting Team lead, South Asia will assist the Head of Financial Performance & Actuarial, South Asia to lead the technical accounting team on all the technical accounting matters for South Asia treaties. This is a 12 months contract role.



Key duties and responsibilities


Assist the Head of Financial Performance & Actuarial, South Asia in the technical accounting function:


  • In charge of all accounting aspect of the life business and ensuring all information captured on the Omega system is accurate and on time for closing
  • Responsible for Omega technical administration (Treaty creation, estimation, accounting & settlement) for all South Asia treaties.
  • Ensuring that the quarterly Omega closing is performed accurately and timely
  • Liaise with the division/regional offices on technical issues
  • Lead the team in the year end audit works.



  • Work closely with market managers, pricing, risk management and finance teams to provide technical accounting interpretation and expertise to others within the group
  • Maintain interaction with other departments across SCOR (eg Omega team, underwriting & claims) in order to contribute to multi-function projects



Required experience & competencies





  • Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in an insurance/reinsurance business
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)



  • Experience with database software such as VBA, SQL server
