This position is for a one year contract.

 

Job Summary

We are currently looking for an individual who can be responsible for ensuring timely review of the bordereaux on the basis of the Treaty terms and to ensure accurate recording of premium and statistical information and perform RI administration activities.

 

Key duties and responsibilities

 

  • Effectively and efficiently handle a reinsurance accounting and claims portfolio;
  • Perform credit control activities and follow-ups on clients within own portfolio;
  • Interacts with internal and external clients to successfully bring reinsurance accounting and claim matters to conclusion;
  • Maintain adequate documentation of internal processes and ensure compliance with internal guidelines;
  • Support in the quarterly close off checks (ageing, outstanding statement of accounts, etc.).
  • Monitor and manage open balances, identify incoming receipts and initiate outgoing payment
  • Manage creditors/debtors position for allocated accounts.  Review amounts in suspense accounts and reconcile to correct account.
  • Electronic management and archiving of accounting relevant documents in DMS
  • To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence from time to time.

 

Required experience & competencies

 

Experience:

  • Preferably 3-5 years experiences in General Insurance or Reinsurance Industry administration will be an advantage

 

Personal Competencies:

  • Strong numerical reasoning and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point as well as knowledge of reporting tool (e.g Business Objects)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill
  • Well organized, meticulous and a good team spirit
