Context

SCOR’s “Life” division, SCOR Global Life, has a turnover of over 8 billion euros, with a very strong presence in the United States (#1), and also in Europe and in Asia (Top 3 worldwide). SCOR Global Life covers insurance companies and pension funds against biometric risks.

 

Inside the  SCOR Global Life’s COO department, The “Omega Life Support” unit provides business support to the Life Finance departments and animate the Omega user community (Technical Accounting, Valuation & FP&A teams) in coordination with SCOR group functions (IT, Group Project Office,…) and P&C finance department.

 

 

Job Summary

 

The “Omega Life Support”(OLS) unit is acting for the Life Division as a Competency Center on  Omega 2 (SCOR main software for Business Administration and Technical Accounting data, at treaty level) and its associated softwares (reporting solution & Imaging platform). It participates actively on process improvements, tool maintenance activities and leads Projects in its area of competency for the life division.

 

The OLS Team wants to leverage on new technologies, innovation and incorporate automation capabilities to reduce inefficiencies and Non-Value-Added activities (NVAs) which users have to undertake currently.

Within this department and while working closely with the Data Analytics and Industrialization (DAS) Team, the “Data Scientist / Process Automation Internwill assist the team in the automation of processes within Omega thereby reducing Non Value Added activities. The Team is keen on working in an agile approach.

 

Key duties and responsibilities

 

  • Support the Omega 2 processes automation initiative :

Propose and implement automation capabilities in the core areas identified by the OL Team

  •  
    • Foster innovation to improve Omega processes’ efficiency and user friendliness
    • He/She will be involved in communications and meetings with Global IT Teams, with Operational agility and the Omega user community to identify pain points, define and deploy solutions through automation and innovation.
    • Ensure that the automations brought forward in Omega 2 can be transalated across all the Markets and users that Omega 2 caters to.
    • Understand the Business Requirements and have the capacity to deliver automation capabilities as described and requested
    • Communicate with the different stakeholders to ensure alignment between the deliveries
    • Coordinate the execution with support from the OLS Team (including regular status and reporting, demos to define specification etc.)

 

 

Required experience & competencies

 

  • Required:
    • Capacity to deliver automation capabilities to a given process through his/her programming skills
    • Good understanding of  Agile project management skills, tools and methodologies
    • Understanding of key principles of process automation

 

  • Technical:
    • Python,  HTML/CSS/Javascript
    • Knowledge of Computer Vision algorithms
    • Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning
    • NLP Knowledge is a plus

Required Education

  • Bachelors or Master degree or equivalent (Ecole d’Ingénieur, Business School, or equivalent)
