Job Summary
The FP&A Manager supports the Group Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) department in all its main tasks:
- Participation in the different planning and forecasting activities of the Group: Operating plans, Strategic plans, quarterly landing processes and rolling forecasts
- Analysis of quarterly financial statements, performance measurement, variance analysis vs. Plan and Landing; elaboration of a quarterly analytical and reporting package, participation in the elaboration of internal and external presentations
- Support senior management by producing decision-support analytics including simulations and sensitivities to steer the business and optimize resources allocation and performance measurement
Represent the Head of Group FP&A in the various Finance and non-Finance projects (e.g. IFRS 17, Segmental reporting, business performance, peers analysis, Ashford, etc.)
Key duties and responsibilities
The FP&A Manager has the following main duties and responsibilities:
- Produce and coordinate the Group planning and forecasting activity process – Produce the annual Operating Plans and the tri-annual Strategic Plans of the Group with appropriate analysis, including:
- Monitoring the execution of Strategic plan and Operating plan
- Produce Group, divisional and LoB analytics including legal entity view where possible
- Rethink the planning exercise to ensure a full efficiency of the process and an optimal allocation of resources and integrate IFRS 17 aspects and considerations
- Extend the analysis to non IFRS GAAP measurements (Value creation, Capital and Solvency, etc.)
- Strong involvement on IFRS 17 project and support FP&A readiness for the transition (including contribution to the KPIs and Financial communication discussions)
- Manage the Group CFO expenses budget, projections and Actuals – Coordinate the budget production process, produce the appropriate sensitivities and analysis supporting Group CFO during the arbitration phase of expenses budget.
- Closing support – Including preparation of Comex / ViA dashboard / AC presentations and assist Group departments in reviewing internal and external communications (Analytical package, IR presentation, DDR, etc.)
- Act as business partner for the Investment Business Units and GCC&B – Undertake appropriate studies and analysis helping to understand SGI business and expenses development.
- Ad-hoc analyses, benchmarks, preparation of internal memos, etc.
Participation in interdisciplinary and finance specific projects supporting and/or representing the Head of Group FP&A
Required experience & competencies
Experience:
- Minimun 5 years work experience in financial services, preferable reinsurance or insurance
- Experience in financial planning & analysis, controlling, consolidation, financial audit or financial consulting
Special knowledge and skills required:
- Knowledge of IFRS (in particular IFRS 17) and Solvency II
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills at all levels including senior management
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment
- Ability to drill down to explore root causes of observable facts / issue
- Structured working style, proactive personality with ability to prioritize
Digital Competencies:
- Strong Miscrosoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with SAP solutions (e.g. BFC, BPC, etc...)
Required Education
Business and Finance education (Business school, MBA, Bac + 5 equivalent).
