About the Team

 

SCOR P&C’s Retrocession Underwriting team is responsible for structuring, placing and managing all its outwards retrocession covers.

SCOR P&C’s Retrocession Operations team is responsible for implementation of the P&C retrocession plan, creation, and administration of contracts (proportional, non-proportional and specific retrocession), the accounting of the outwards retrocession contracts mentioned above. Retro operations is also a part of production and analysis of retrocession figures on the quarterly closing.

In the current retrocession market, quality and reliability of accounts and reporting have become key differentiating elements. The Position of Retrocession Senior analyst is at the intersection of these two Teams and will thus be organized in a double reporting scheme to ensure smooth coordination and liaison between external counterparties (retrocessionnaires, brokers) and internal SCOR teams.

 

Job Summary

In charge of a portfolio of contracts, you will manage the full scope including quarterly closing productions and analysis on these contracts, prepare quarterly accounts and reporting for SCOR P&C’s Proportional retrocession contracts and perform first-level analysis on these elements to ensure consistency and quality.

 

Key duties and responsibilities

 

  • Prepare quarterly technical accounts (premiums, losses, expenses) for SCOR P&C’s retrocession contracts
  • Prepare quarterly reporting for the above retrocession contracts
  • Perform first-level analysis of the accounts and reporting in order to ensure control and quality of the elements provided
  • Ensure all accounts and reporting are delivered on time
  • Ensure preparation and follow up of financial situations with brokers, retrocessionnaires, SCOR entities.
  • Managing relations with external retrocession brokers for sending the above documents, and make sure that they are delivered to retrocession counterparties in a timely manner
  • Answer questions from retrocession counterparties about quarterly accounts and reporting
  • Check appropriate cession of inward reinsurance treaties to relevant Retrocession contracts
  • During the quarterly closing, check appropriate cession of inward reinsurance treaties to relevant Retrocession contracts, ensure the landing of the figures, liaise with internal SCOR entities for their local cessions, analyse and reconcile the figures

 

Required experience & competencies

 

 Experience:

  • 10+years’ experience working in (Re)-Insurance or broking company
  • Experience and exposure to ILS vehicles (sidecars, collateralized quota-shares) accounting and administration.
  • Good understanding of collateralized reinsurance mechanisms
  • Professional Excel skillset
  • Ability to use different accounting tools and data request systems (Business Objects)

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, rigorous
  • Strong teamwork spirit in an international environment
  • Ability to communicate with external parties such as retrocession brokers
  • Ability to deliver on time
  • Languages: English: working level (read, written, spoken), working level in French appreciated but not essential 

 

Required Education :

  • Degree in Accounting or finance
