- Job Summary

The 'Risk Manager' role is part of SCOR’s Internal Control System (hereafter ‘ICS’) team which reports to the Risk Governance Department. The core objective of ICS team is to pool the ICS expertise in order to foster a consistent ICS approach and application of ICS standards across the Group. The ICS team consists of experts, who are dedicated to coordinating the internal control formalization activities within the Group, its business units and entities, and supporting the business process owners where necessary. The ICS standards are applied based on the principle of proportionality. ICS processes are documented accordingly, focusing on those considered the most critical. The ICS documentation is being maintained across the Group and regularly reviewed for continuous improvement.

 

- Key duties and responsibilities

  • Support process owners
    • in documenting their processes and controls according to Group ICS standards.
    • in identifying and assessing risks in scope of ICS, and provide advice to process owners with respect to effectiveness and efficiency of the control design and operation.
    • in providing them with value added solutions to enhance process and controls efficiency
    • design, organise and hold ICS training sessions (incl. OpenPages trainings for end-users).
  • Monitor ICS effectiveness
    • Manage ICS effectiveness self-assessment and reporting for assigned areas, and support the resolution of control issues.
    • Support the reporting on ICS effectiveness to senior management and Board.
    • Follow-up of issues identified by various stakeholders
  • Maintain ICS standards and tools
    • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of the ICS methodology (incl. ICS Policy and Guidelines).
    • Support the maintenance and continuous development of SCOR’s IT application for ICS (OpenPages)
    • In addition, support other projects/initiatives related to Operational Risk Management and the CRO area in a wider sense.

 

- Required experience and competencies

Experience

  • Professional experience in risk management, audit, accounting or finance area
  • Good understanding of the insurance/reinsurance industry
  • Hands-on ICS/operational risk management experience
  • Project management experience

  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills
  • Autonomous and pro-active, good planning and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal, capacity to hold workshops / trainings to large audience including senior executives)

  • Strong appetite for working in multi-cultural environment

- Required Education

Master’s degree level preferred in Business, Audit, Accounting, Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, or Engineering area.
