- Job summary

As a key member of the SAP Competency Center, you manage budgets, projects, BAU and people (internal and external) to ensure:

  • The Finance business requirements and strategy are aligned and supported by a clear roadmap
  • The continuous improvement and development of the Group Finance Analytics platform around a consistent and fully integrated business/technology roadmap
  • Effective management of the Reporting Factory team (internal and external consultants)
  • Ensure Business as Usual relevancy and continuous delivery for any Finance Analytics solution, evolutions & user support with high quality service
  • Project Management in a highly challenging context is key
  • Ownership of the Finance Analytics plateform requiring key SAP Analytics technology knowledge


The SAP Competency Center

SCOR is an independent, leading reinsurance company, working on a global scale through its 35 locations on five continents and its 4 Hubs located in Paris-London, Zurich-Cologne, New York, and Singapore.

The finance function is closely aligned to the organization of its internal clients, including the three business engines : Life, P&C and Investments.

The Group SAP Competency Center includes more than 10 internal staff (Paris/Zurich/New York) and more than 100 consultants (on site and/or nearshore).

The Group SAP Competency Center mandate is mainly to:

  • Maintain the “1GL” applications (enhancement and maintenance): SAP S/4 + addons, EPM, Analytics incl. reporting solutions and interfaces
  • Monitor and execute SAP Basis activities (excl. OS and Infra management)
  • Manage projects for evolutions and reengineering initiatives
  • Provide management, analytical and operational capabilities within a unified and best-practices oriented Finance Platform
  • Secure Finance platform integrity and operability
  • Ensure process maintenance & evolution through all chain of activities
  • Support projects and innovation
  • Support Finance community at large
  • Implement robust, proven, and certified technologies only
  • Monitor and increase operational excellence, efficiency & response time
  • Maximize agility and flexibility, time to market, scalability, and user empowerment
  • Increase automated controls and monitoring of the platform


- Key duties and responsibilities

The position reports directly to the Head of SAP Competency Center.

The primary responsibilities are:

  • Managing of the SAP CC Analytics roadmap and communication to various parties including Executives – Acting as a reliable Global Project Manager is a must have
  • Managing the Analytics team and project team(s) (Project resources, SMEs, technical and/or functional resources) to support the Analytics proftoflio and assist whenever it is needed
  • Ensure a global coordination, cross applications/projects, to support the Finance strategy, BAU, business changes and innovation
    • i.e. IFRS17 / I9S / Finance projects and any Group initiatives
  • Risk mitigation and decision taking
    • From projects mode to emergency management when needed
  • Communicate about the “Finance Business Solution” efficiency/results and act as a reliable representative inside and outside SCOR
  • Monitor roadmap and deliverables in regards with budgets, plans and priorities
  • Constantly look forward to bringing value to SCOR finance processes (quick wins, innovation, enhancements) to better serve finance customers
  • Support the relationship with SAP and rely on this strong connection to support business challenges
  • Support the relationship with SCOR stakeholders and promote the vision/actions of Group Finance
  • Provide all means to achieve the objectives (people, tools, expertise, budget)
  • Support SCOR Finance transformation at large

The position will also require to:

  • Communicate, educate and help market Finance Analytics to the business and IT leads within the organization
  • Take charge of sourcing and vendor management of third-party resources and products for the Global SAP Finance landscape and related components improvements (SAP technology watch)
  • Receive escalations from projects or BAU and provide all means to help stabilizing the situation (action plans, resource pooling, communication, …) and escalate to management when needed
  • Be customer oriented with a strong reliability on deadlines and ensure this mindset is spread within the Analytics related initiatives


- Required experience & competencies


  • Strong experience in SAP project management, especially around Analytics or Reporting – preferably within consulting companies or banking/insurance industry
  • Expertise on managing Analytics in a SCOR Finance like context is a plus (highly integrated, real-time, dynamic, HANA & S/4 based)
  • Ability to understand both business and technology drivers and challenges
  • Proven project management skills for tools, projects, and business reporting topics
  • Acknowledged capability to receive escalated situations and act as a leader on building action plans and securing business priorities
  • Experience of working in a global environment (i.e global Competency Center or Analytics department)
  • Management of teams especially with multi-location team (global & cross-cultural environment)
  • Technologies oriented and SAP oriented, with a constant look at innovation and business value drivers
  • Ability to communicate & write in French and English (German is a nice to have)
