Job Summary:
Seeking a self-starter, highly motivated, qualified professional with a strong work ethic that will be responsible for working with the GLH Executive Risks on executing the “Public” Directors and Officer Liability single risk strategy for SCOR Specialty Insurance.  This is a start-up business unit therefore all aspects of the underwriting platform (forms, rating models, underwriting methodology, accumulation, and portfolio management) must be established before the January 2021 launch date. Must be team player and have effective communication and project management skills to work with all the internal stakeholders (claims, actuarial, legal, Underwriting Management, Group Risk Management and Senior Management) that have a vested interest in this highly visible initiative.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities/ Key duties and responsibilities:
•    Successfully execute the single risk D&O strategy
•    Achieve and exceed the financial targets (profitability, expense, premium) for this line of business while also making a positive contribution to the SCOR Specialty Insurance Americas and EMEA results.
•    Assist the SVP GLH Executive Risk in defining the underwriting methodology and creating the guidelines for Public D&O.
•    Develop policy forms and work with the insurance operations filing team on compliance with all State requirements for admitted or non-admitted insurance.
•    Operate within delegated authority levels on assignment of higher technical complexity and coordination.
•    Develop relationships with distribution partners throughout the USA and proactively work with them to seek new business opportunities on targeted companies.
•    Collaborate with other SCOR Specialty underwriters in the USA to provide comprehensive “all lines” whole account solutions where possible.
•    Proactively manage your accounts and make any necessary adjustments in the industry mix, attachment points and limits to ensure a long term, profitable book of business.
•    Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition.
•    Keeps abreast of legal, regulatory and industry trends that may impact this line of business.

Required experience & competencies
Experience: 

•    5 to 10 years of successful underwriting of USA Public Directors & Officers Liability and related lines of business
•    Experience focused on the Commercial sector versus FI segment
•    Strong relationship with distributions partners throughout the USA


Personal Competences:
•    Accountability, team oriented, strong business acumen, communication skills (oral & written), self-starter, flexibility, time management, strong ethics
Managerial competences: 
•    As the business grows, willingness to develop the competency skills needed to become a team leader

Required Education 
•    Bachelor’s degree from a reputable University
•    MBA is desired but not required
•    Insurance Industry designations (RPLU, etc.) strongly desired but not required
