Within SCOR Global Life division, a leader of the Italian reinsurance market, your role will be to manage client relationships with Italian market insurance entities to develop existing business relationships and seek opportunities to develop new ones. By doing this, you shall understand client needs and priorities to maximize business generation within the constraints of the company’s underwriting policy and profitability targets. Another main task among others includes to support the Market Manager in the management of business relationships with Key Clients.


Key duties and responsibilities:

Under the authority of the Market Manager, you will be asked to:

  • Underwrite, build and maintain a profitable portfolio in accordance with the underwriting guidelines
  • Manage the relationship with the clients under assigned responsibility
  • Detect new business opportunities, whether with existing clients or with prospects
  • Identify and understand client’s needs and propose appropriate SCOR reinsurance solutions, products and services


Main Activities:

  • Study clients’ reinsurance needs and identify new business targets
  • Build and formalize reinsurance offers, with the support of SCOR actuarial teams, in accordance with the UW Guidelines
  • Negotiate with clients the terms and conditions of the proposed solutions, in order to finalize efficiently the deals with cedents and implement the reinsurance treaties
  • Build and maintain relationships with ceding companies and their reinsurance brokers, including clients visits
  • Report regularly on accounts, visits and marketing activity
  • Close interaction with our Accounting, Medical Underwriting and Claims teams


Required education, experiences & competencies:

  • Completed University Degree in the field of Economics, Insurance or Actuarial Science, or similar
  • 5 -10 years of working experience in an insurance or reinsurance company, reinsurance department of an insurance company or insurance or reinsurance broker in a role that included decision making underwriting experience as well as customer management and/or Product Development
  • Knowledge of the Insurance/reinsurance market in Italy, including insurance products, distribution channels and economical and financial environment. Knowledge of individual and Group Protection Market including Life, Accident&Health, Credit Protection (including CPI and Cessione del Quinto business)
  • Knowledge of legal environment of insurance and reinsurance contracts, insurance accounting aspects
  • Willingness and ability for regular business travel also outside Italy
  • Good negotiation skills, ability to listen and to observe, flexibility; Good team player
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Mother tongue Italian; Fluency in English both written and oral; Knowledge of French would be considered a plus
