The Role 
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) supports and strengthens the strategic priorities defined by the Group. The risk management function drives the development, implementation and continuous improvement of ERM related standards, processes and tools (the ERM framework) across the Group, the business units and the entities. 

As Risk Analyst within the global Risk Coverage team, you will support the implementation and continuous improvement of the risk management framework for the entities supported by the London Risk Management team in all activities in accordance with the defined ERM framework whilst meeting all regulatory and commercial expectations. This particularly encompasses quantification of regulatory capital according to the standard formula, review of internal model parameterizations/methodologies/assumptions as well as production of capital projections with clearly documented analysis of results. This may be undertaken in coordination with other teams of the supported entities, the Group and the P&C business unit as relates to both internal and external regulatory reporting.

In this role you will furthermore assist the CRO and team to ensure that the risk management activities are appropriately interlinked with the relevant business and decision-making processes in order to further spread the risk culture across the organization and to foster the understanding and optimization of the risk return profile. You will support team to ensure that the applicable legal and regulatory requirements related to risk management (i.e. policies, processes and reporting) are met in a timely fashion. In addition, you will contribute to risk analyses including assessment of scenarios and initiatives.


Key duties and responsibilities

  • As a member of SCOR’s risk management team in London, support all relevant risk management activities as agreed within the team, i.e. risk appetite, tolerances and limits setting, risk identification, qualitative and quantitative risk assessment, monitoring and reporting (via risk registers, risk dashboards, etc.).
  • Participate in calculations of regulatory capital according to Solvency II standard formula requirements and related reporting in coordination with local, P&C and Group stakeholders.
  • Participate in validation of internal model inputs and outputs as required.
  • Participate in development of risk measurement models for the supported entities including review of results and validation processes.
  • As a member of risk management team in London and business partner/enabler, contribute to the business planning and other relevant business processes in order to support business decisions in view of risks, e.g. by conducting risk analyses etc. 
  • Assist the team’s management in conducting and documenting ORSA processes, participate in the related risk analyses (with regards to risk profile/ risk drivers and capital adequacy via scenario/stress testing and qualitative assessments) and ORSA reporting including participating in production of relevant reports and documentation.
  • Prepare materials for internal risk/solvency reporting to management and board (and the relevant committees).
  • Contribute to external risk/solvency reporting and communication to auditors, regulators, supervisory authorities as requested.
  • Contribute to ERM trainings and communication for further spreading risk culture within the organization.
  • Conduct and participate in local/divisional/global risk enquiries, studies and risk analyses and communicate results effectively in risk related topics (regular or ad hoc), based on regulatory capital and own risk measurement models.
  • In coordination with other Risk Management teams, support the implementation of risk policies, processes and reporting in order to ensure consistency and allow for aggregation at the various levels of SCOR Group.
  • Contribute to the development of extreme scenarios (probabilistic) and footprint scenarios (deterministic) in coordination the other Risk Management teams and other transverse functions. 


Required experience & competencies
Education:

  • BSc or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics or related field.
  • Strong qualification progress in a globally recognized actuarial and/or risk management organization


Experience: 
We are ideally looking for candidates who have a few years work experience in similar position, ideally within P&C insurance or reinsurance and particularly the London Market. Experience in actuarial and financial risk modeling advantageous, i.e. capital modelling/ validation, result production/presentation, documentation and review processes.

Personal Competences and Skills:

  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to disaggregate business plans/transactions into risk components; excellent IT skills and statistical analysis.
  • Take initiative to learn and identify areas for further self-development.
  • Ability to apply skills/work in project mode in a variety of ad hoc situations, proactively proposing and balancing a range of solutions.
  • Team worker with ability to deliver results for review in a timely manner, being proactive in managing deadlines, with strong sense of accountability and high quality of outputs presented for review.
  • Build and maintain relationships within risk management and other functions, locally and across the Group.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex topics in simple terms.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and to actively share knowledge.
  • Capacity to apply sound business and financial judgment and knowledge of P&C (re)insurance business.
  • Legal and regulatory compliance understanding and awareness.
