Within SCOR Global P&C, Specialty is the central unit dedicated to insuring the business risks faced by large corporate companies.  We have been serving our clients for 50 years and have maintained a continuous presence in the market by upholding a strong technical culture supported by SCOR’s best-in-class financial strength rating.
Business activity is structured around four regions (EMEA, APAC, Latin America and North America) through global lines of business including Property, Construction, Energy, Casualty, Cyber, Marine/Transport and Space/Aviation. Clients in each region are served by specialized underwriters who rely on SCOR's technical expertise and client knowledge.

The EMEA Property team consists of thirteen underwriters located in Paris, London and Zurich, they work as one team and play a central role in cross-selling and product development.  The team has built a diversified portfolio.  They are led by the EMEA Regional Head of Property who has dual reporting to the Global Head of Property and the SBS Regional Head of EMEA.

Job Summary
•    Produce, negotiate, underwrite and manage insurance and reinsurance business for Global Property including Heavy Industries and Risk Managed business.
•    Contribute to the development and quality of the portfolio in accordance with the underwriting policy.
•    Build and Manage Broker relationships in the London Market and the EMEA region. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Under the authority of EMEA Regional Property Manager, you will be in charged with:
•    Underwrite, build and maintain a profitable portfolio in accordance with the SBS underwriting guidelines
•    Marketing the SBS capabilities and products to Corporate Risk Managers, Brokers and Ceding companies in London and other EMEA countries
•    Contribute towards marketing material and informed business intelligence documentation based upon research and analysis.
•    Report regularly on your accounts and marketing activity
•    Ensure data accuracy and correct implementation of internal tools. Supervise and assist, when required, the administration of the OMEGA back-office tool (in liaison with the Technical Assistants) in relation to new or existing accounts.

Principal Activities
•    Underwrite in a technical manner to assess risks in order to determine their insurability and apply appropriate terms and conditions.
•    Identify new business targets in order to develop a profitable profile for SBS.
•    Build and maintain relationships with clients and their intermediaries (brokers, ceding companies).
•    Visit regularly our clients and project sites (approx. 15-30 days of business travel per year)
•    Promote SCOR to our customers by using the communication and marketing products (seminars, forums, materials etc).
•    Work in close cooperation and coordination with your colleagues in the SBS network with where appropriate the sharing of business objectives to produce the best response to your producers and for the division.
•    Responsibly manage data recorded in our information systems to give an accurate representation of the risks subscribed and to allow portfolio analysis.
•    Regularly interact with our claims team to inform the underwriting process.
•    Motivate, encourage and contribute to the training and development of colleagues.

Required experience and competencies
•    Property Underwriting experience with an emphasis on Large Corporate risks and heavy industries
•    Proven experience within the Insurance/Reinsurance market experience
•    Educated to Degree or Masters level
•    Insurance qualification desired
